Snaps Sports Bar is the newly opened 24-hour sports lounge of Sofitel Manila. Designed for the sports fanatics and enthusiasts who just want to sit around, have a couple of beers and wine, grab some food for sharing while playing pool and foosball in the area. Basically people who just want to have great times with friends and families.
Snaps Sports Bar has this sophisticated and modern interior design coupled with large LCD TVs to watch your favorite sports and games.
Jerseys and memorabilia beautifully framed and hung onto the walls with comfortable couches and big pillows for a more relaxed and cozy feel.
A bar area where people could just grab some drinks after a game in PAGCOR Casino located inside the restaurant.
A complimentary bowl of potato chips was first served on our table while waiting for our orders.
Classic Cream of Pumpkin (P290)
A bowl of this rich and creamy pumpkin soup was perfect to start off our meal. Topped with bite sized croutons, a fusion of crunch and creaminess in every spoonful welcomed our palates. It was so thick and creamy you can easily tell that it's freshly puréed with bits of pumpkin that adds to the richness of the soup.
Organic Asian w/ Mangoes (P400)
The fruits were sweet, ripe and fresh contrasted by the tart and tangy vinaigrette dressing. I was not able to use all the dressing cause a little drizzle goes a long way. It was really sour.
Snaps Combo Platter (P750)
A platter of Snaps Sports Bar favorite fried appetizers- Calamares Fritos, Onion Rings and Buffalo Wings deep fried to perfection for that crunchy golden brown texture.
The squid rings have this crunchy batter coating with a tender and chewy texture of the squid inside. It came with a tartare sauce to compliment the crunchy seafood bites.
The onions rings were big and crunchy with a light and sweet taste. Also great to dip into the tartare sauce for an extra creamy flavor.
And what's a sports bar without deep fried buffalo wings? Nothing fancy but it was crunchy and juicy at the same time. Their wings came with a Roquefort blue cheese dressing which we will never forget. We were used to dipping our buffalo wings in blue cheese but this one was different. We did not like it.. at all! It tasted like crayons and candle wax. (Not that we've ever tasted one) But it has this lingering taste and smell that takes time to get off our taste buds. Even a full glass of water could not wash away the aftertaste of the blue cheese dressing. Memories :)
Variation of Dim Sum in Basket (P500)
A basket of assorted dimsum- 1 Asado Siopao, 2 pcs. Siomai and 2 pcs. Hakao.
We were quite disappointed with this order as we did not expect it to come in just few pieces given its price on the menu.
Honestly I was expecting an order great for sharing but turns out, one person can go solo on this.
For the taste, nothing really exceptional and I must say that I've tried other dimsum better than these at a way way... lower cost.
We even joked that the dimsums were just taken from Le Bar's buffet section :)
Beef Bulgogi (P780)
An order of their Beef Bulgogi came with a bowl of miso soup, plain rice and korean side dishes.
Served in a hot sizzling plate of Korean beef strips mixed with bell peppers, caramelized onions, carrots and leeks, this dish was definitely worth it. The beef was tender and sweet with a tad saltiness which was just appropriate since we're eating it with rice. The serving was already good for sharing and it really made us full afterwards.
Snaps Sports Bar Menu:
Menu rates at Sofitel's Snaps Sports Bar is quite expensive and pricey given the serving and quality of food. But good thing we got an Accor Advantage Card which gives us 50% off on our total bill. Imagine the huge savings we got for our dinner.
Plus, I get to claim my complimentary chocolate birthday cake which was by the way deliciously yummy! :)
P.S. Thank you to Ingrid who was our server that night. She was exceptionally friendly and accommodating to our needs. I just had to commend her for the great service! :)

ReplyDeleteHmmm... I never visit sports bars mainly because I'm afraid all that chasing after balls on TV would bore me to death. :) But I might just go to one soon. I heard the food is great in bars like this.

The place looks great, will try to visit the place the next time we dine at Sofitel. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThey got fantastic interiors! but I think their food price is so expensive especially for the dimsum basket.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that the complimentary bowl of potato chips was nearing to be fully consumed before you take some food shots..seems like you enjoyed eating those chips! lol! ^_^
ReplyDeleteyummy....parang gusto ko na agad kumain...i love the creamy pumpkin!
ReplyDeleteso expensive. that's why i try to avoid hotel food. i believe you can get better deals and better tasting dishes in smaller restos. have you tried UNO in scout fuentebella? it's a small bistro but i love their food. we have lunch or dinner at UNO at least once a week.
ReplyDeletehihi! you noticed! :) gutom na kami nun e haha! :)
ReplyDeletethanks for that info! did not know about Uno before. Will certainly check it out! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the ambience at Snaps. It reminded me of a restaurant I've been to when I went to Germany. the food though is very asian and for most of us, Filipinos would easily fall in love too.
