The Cake Club by Diamond Hotel- Weekend Brunch Specials in Fort

I've always been intrigued on what The Cake Club by Diamond Hotel in Bonifacio High Street has to offer. The first time I've seen the place, it was like a luxurious jewel shop with glass showcase display of beautifully crafted cakes instead of diamonds.

But The Cake Club is not all about cakes alone. Recently, they launched this Weekend Brunch Specials that can be availed Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-3pm. Another reason for the whole family to wake up early and head over to Fort for a long bonding session over brunch.

What's great about The Cake Club's Weekend Brunch is that it's especially made for everyone with a wide variety of breakfast choices for the whole family.

Pan Fried Foie Gras (P365)

What could be more luxurious and grand than a plate of Pan Fried Foie Gras for brunch. A savory chunk of seasoned foie gras served with creamy scrambled egg, fresh herbs and truffle oil is paired with fresh greens and toast for a deluxe and fancy meal. Perfectly fit for the family's King!

Smoked Salmon Benedict (P345)

My personal favorite from the brunch menu is this Smoked Salmon Benedict in whole wheat quinoa pancakes with olive oil-cooked asparagus, and poured with thick and creamy Hollandaise sauce. It was a hearty and healthy breakfast plate of eggs-citement! I bet moms would love this too!

Mediterranean Eggs (P355)

It was my first time to try Mediterranean Eggs so I wasn't sure what to expect. It's basically scrambled eggs with vine ripe tomatoes, fresh basil and feta cheese. The combination of flavors turned out pretty well, complemented with 3 pieces of savory and meaty pan-fried lamb sausages.

Homemade Corned Beef Stuffed Blinis (P325)

Homemade Corned Beef Blinis are these mouth-watering rolls of homemade corned beef with caramelized onions atop vine ripe tomatoes and covered in whole-grain mustard sauce. An order also comes with fluffy scrambled eggs with Swiss cheese for a creamier texture.

Whole Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes (P295)

The classic breakfast of soft and fluffy Whole Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes made use of blueberry preserves and mascarpone cream instead of the usual butter and maple syrup. Fresh slices of banana lay beautifully on the side to complete the whole fruity ensemble. Kids will surely enjoy this too!

Stuffed French Toast (P295)

This classic french toast of brioche bread is stuffed with fresh slices of sweet strawberries and cream cheese. Garnished with more serving of strawberries and fresh blueberries and finished off with a few sprinkles of powdered sugar making it more appealing with the wild berry mascarpone sauce. Lovely!

Bircher Muesli (P265)

For those gearing towards a healthier lifestyle, you might want to try the Cake Club's Bircher Muesli- old-fashioned rolled oats, assorted dried fruits, fresh green apples and shredded coconut soaked in yogurt and milk. It tasted like regular oat cereal but this has a sweeter and nuttier taste with thick, creamy and crunchier texture. A very nutritious bowl of light yet filling breakfast goodness!

Aside from the Weekend Brunch Selections, here are other dishes that you wouldn't like to miss out on your visit to The Cake Club.

Foie Gras Macaron (P150/piece)

So you might be wondering why this macaron costs P150 right? Well, aside from that its size is bigger than the average macaron, it is Foie Gras. It's quite interesting how The Cake Club managed to re-create the famous French dessert and make a savory appetizer out of it. Although still a bit sweet with the crunchy and chewy cookie crust, the foie gras ganache inside gave a contrasting balance of salty and savory taste to each bite.

Truffle Fries (P180)

The Cake Club truly has the best Truffle Fries in town! From the moment it was served, you can actually smell the fragrant truffle oil lingering around the air. The thick slices of potato fries remained crispy the whole time without a hint of sogginess on it. Hands down the best truffle fries indeed!

Braised Veal Cheek Ravioli (P370)

Braised Veal Cheek Ravioli reminded me of the Ravioli de Rabo de Toro we had in Cova. It is braised veal cheek encased in al dente pasta ravioli with Haricot verts or French greens beans, shitake mushrooms in braised jus.

Cakes

Vanessa (P250) and Guia (P250)

Vanessa is a mini cake version of a pistachio macaron with fresh strawberries and cream filling. Beautifully crafted that is both pleasing to the eyes and to the palate!

Guia is a rich and creamy cheesecake with a combination of maple and walnut flavors. Simple yet elegantly designed, this mini cheesecake is a nutty and sweet treat!

The Cake Club Menu:

My experience at The Cake Club was both satisfying and filling. Every menu item is packed with unique and bold flavors that would leave you wanting to visit the place again and again. Coupled with a nice cozy ambiance and warm, friendly service, The Cake Club is definitely a perfect setting for a morning rendezvous. Glad to have a punch of hearty breakfast meals at The Cake Club!
