Mala Yuanyang Hotpot was the best lunch we had during our Taiwan trip.
Mala Yuanyang Hotpot is located in Ximending district very near Holiday KTV along Xining Road.
We arrived early for lunch after our visit to Chiang Kai Shek Memorial.
Rate per person: NT$499- lunch (11:30am-4pm) NT$599- dinner (4pm-5am)
Time limit: 2 hours
The concept is shabu-shabu all you can. Choose 2 kinds of soup base then get anything you want from the chiller.
We chose a dual pot of plain and mala soup base since my mom can't tolerate spicy food.
The shabu-shabu items were far from what we have here in Manila. They have a lot of fresh veggies and mushrooms, squid, fish, crab, clams, scallops, tendons, mochi, noodles, squid balls, fish cakes, cheese balls, dumplings, crabstick, tofu etc..
seafood..
mushrooms and greens..
and more balls..
Mom doesn't eat beef either so D and I finished up the meats to our hearts' content.
Instead she feasted on these handmade squid and shrimp balls.
Let the feast begin!
And the best part? Dessert!
Unlimited Haagen Dazs and Movenpick Ice Cream
Coffee or Tea?
I like my Chrysanthemum tea with goji berries.
A chiller of assorted fruits, pies, pudding, jelly, panna cotta and chilled beancurd.
Fruit flavored and peanut beancurd
Drinks- Earl Grey Milk Tea, Calpis Soda, Camellia Green Tea, Orange Juice
2 hours was more than enough for us. Best to arrive early or call for reservations as the place gets packed during peak hours.
We'll be sure to include a lunch at Mala Yuanyang Hotpot when we visit Taiwan again.
