Tipsy Pig Gastropub in Capitol Commons- Ortigas, Pasig

Capitol Commons in Pasig recently became one of the newest hangout places for those working around Ortigas. They can have a Mediterranean dinner at Black Olive, some hot bowls of artisanal ramen from Nomama, their favorite drink from Starbucks, or shop for imported gourmet products at Santis Delicatessen. Another restaurant where most people go to is Tipsy Pig Gastropub. Such a quirky name don't you think?

Just like this quirky one whole chicken sitting pretty on a can of San Miguel beer.

Beer Can Chicken (P750)- whole roasted chicken, can of Pale Pilsen, grilled tortillas, bbq sauce

It was juicy and tender with a hint of spice rub that takes roasted chicken to a whole new level. Non-beer drinkers shouldn't hesitate to try this out as they won't really taste much bitterness of beer in the chicken.

Tipsy Wings (P295)- fried wings smothered with homemade Jack Daniels bbq sauce

Crispy, juicy, and tasty, but I wish the chicken wings were bigger.

The Number 4 (P380)- cheddar, mozzarella, provolone, parmesan

As much as I love thin-crust pizzas, how can I not love a thick-crust pizza oozing with 4 types of cheeses?

Jack and Coke BBQ Ribs (P690)- Jack and Coke bbq sauce, coleslaw, grilled buttered corn, choice of mashed potatoes, crispy fries or garlic/plain rice

Juicy and tender ribs smothered, or should I say drenched in sweet barbecue sauce.

Tipsy's Boneless Crispy Pata (P770)- boneless crispy pata, fried garlic chips, Asian soy garlic, homemade dipping sauce

I wonder why it is called 'boneless' when actually there are bones on it. Nevertheless, meat was so tender and skin was also crispy. I also enjoyed dipping it in both sauces.

Rigatoni Pasta w/ Spicy Shrimp (P260)- rigatoni, beurre blanc, tomato confit, chili marinated shrimp

A pasta dish with interesting flavors. It may taste a bit different at first, but you'll get to appreciate the creamy and mildly spiced dish after a few spoonfuls.

Creamy Carbonara (P260)- fettuccine, bacon croutons, parmesan cheese

For a safer pasta choice, I suggest going for the classic creamy carbonara.

Tipsy Pig certainly is a great hangout place especially during weeknights after a long day at work. I love that they give great emphasis on their food which is a huge plus for non-beer drinkers like me. A Tipsy Pig experience is all about having good times with friends over great food, drinks, and conversations without getting tipsy at all. :)
