One Dim Sum 一點心 - One Michelin Star Restaurant in Hong Kong

After our Hong Kong Disneyland Resort adventure, we checked out Citygate Outlets in Tung Chung for a while, then headed to One Dim Sum Chinese Restaurant in Prince Edward Station. One Dim Sum is another One Michelin Star dimsum place in Hong Kong, aside from the famous Tim Ho Wan.

A line was already building up outside the restaurant when we arrived, but fortunately, our friends came early and were able to get a table for the group.

Being a dimsum lover, I was pretty excited to finally try One Dimsum. Too bad my dimsum buddy D wasn't with me during this trip.. He would have enjoyed this dinner as much as I did.

Steamed Siomai (HKD 22/ P126)

I frequent various dimsum houses in Banawe, but it's been a while since I last tasted siomai this good.

Steamed Shrimp Dumplings/Hakao (HKD 24/ P138)

Steam Rice Noodle w/ Shrimp/ Shrimp Cheong Fun (HKD 24/ P138)

Shrimp dumpling or shrimp cheong fun.. either way, you get fresh and plump shrimps in every bite.

Glutinous Rice Dumpling/ Lo Mai Gai (HKD 24/ P138)

Barbecued Pork Bun (HKD13/ P75)

I was looking forward to trying out their version of barbecued pork bun, but was a bit disappointed when it looked different from Tim Ho Wan's. It was pretty good but the bun itself was nothing extraordinary.

Beef Rib Bone w/ Black Pepper Sauce (HKD 22/ P126)

This was one of my favorites during our visit. It was meaty, juicy, peppery and flavorful.

Steamed Dumpling in Chiu Chow Style (HKD15/ P86)

While everyone enjoyed the beef ribs, the Chiu Chow style dumplings did not gather much appreciation due to its thick and mushy wrapper.

Turnip Cake w/ Dry Salted Meat/ Radish Cake (HKD 15/ P86)

I love radish cake so this one was a clear favorite for me. The radish flavor was very evident and enhanced by the dry salted meat. Texture wasn't too firm but it had a nice crisp layer.

Steamed Beef Stomach Sheet w/ Scallion (HKD 17/ P98)

I love how they removed the fatty part of the tripe and left only a thin sheet of the crunchy layer for a guiltless indulgence.

Egg Custard Bun (HKD 13/ P75)

But if you don't mind indulging more than usual, then try their egg custard bun. Perfect for dessert!

My One Dimsum experience in Hong Kong certainly made my tummy a happy camper. Food were reasonably priced considering the restaurant's one michelin star status, and service was very efficient. Looking forward to more dimsum adventures in Hong Kong! I'm eyeing on Lin Heung Teahouse next! If you know a great dimsum place in the area, please feel free to share it below.
