Recently, we found ourselves frequenting Banawe especially after work hours. While scouting the area for a late night grub, we spotted Hokkaido Takoyaki along N.S. Amoranto (Retiro).
We settled in this beautiful Japanese-inspired table setting with matching cherry blossoms.
We ordered their best-selling Original Tokoyaki (P119/6pcs.) which was cooked upon order to ensure its quality and freshness. It was very tasty and flavorful with the generous drizzles of japanese mayo and sauces. The takoyaki balls were also big with real octopus bits and veggies.
We also had an order of their Gyoza (P150) which was pretty ok for its price.
The Bacon Okonomiyaki (P165) was very tasty just like their takoyaki since it uses the same sauce and toppings. You may request to lessen the sauces to
We personally preferred the okonomiyaki over the takoyaki since it has a similar taste, but was more filling with the addition of noodles.
We also enjoyed the Kani Yakisoba (P150) which has a savory and buttery taste to it. It was pretty good too, but halfway through our meal, we felt the flavors tasted redundant as everything we had was quite similar in taste.
Hokkaido Takoyaki Menu:
Hokkaido Takoyaki is a great place for some affordable and tasty Japanese snacks. While I personally find the flavors of their dishes similar in taste (takoyaki, okonomiyaki, yakisoba) because of the sauces, I wouldn't mind going back for a takoyaki, okonomiyaki. or yakisoba fix. I should remind myself though not to order them all together at the same time, especially when it's just the two of us dining.
