I've been craving for an American Style Barbecue Ribs since last week and lucky enough, I saw Bubba Gump's Father's Day Special- 50% off on their renowned Dixie Style Baby Back Ribs (P825). Promo period was June 17-19 and so we decided to have our Saturday lunch at Greenbelt.
Upon entering, I saw their restaurant banner for the promo details.
"Promo period June 17-19, 2011. Valid for all FATHERS only."
"Uh-oh" I gasped. My mind was already fixated on the fact that we would only pay half the price for the ribs.
I was ready to have that "Oops, i changed my mind, let's find another restaurant." script, when Denby insisted we go inside.
The concept of the restaurant was unique. It had a vintage inspired ambiance with old frames and novelties on the wall.
I know that the price range in Bubba Gump was quite expensive and a 1k bill would just let us enjoy a platter of ribs and one side dish.
I browsed the menu and ordered their Onion Rings.
I was amazed how Denby found a way to assure that we could avail of the promo.
Instead of the usual "We would like order one dixie style baby back ribs",
he said " We would like to avail the 50% off promo for your baby back ribs."
Good one.
Our onion rings came and served in a metal rod to form it into a tower. I noticed that almost all diners seated near us had ordered the same.
Humongous Onion Rings Tower |
The onion rings were really good! They were BIG and Crruuncchhyy, just the way I like it. It came with a ranch and barbecue dipping sauce.
And the moment of waiting came to an end...
Our Dixie Style baby back ribs was served together with 2 sides of crispy fries and coleslaw.

The baby back ribs was roasted perfectly. Close to fall-off-the-bone ribs, tender, sweet and succulent.

Even though we just ordered 2 dishes, I was completely satisfied. :)
And for a half off on their baby back ribs, it was one heck of a deal.
