My Foodgasm 2012 Tasting Event and Competition Experience

Last August 25, I attended Foodgasm's food tasting and competition as one of the blogger judges, held at the Mercato Centrale, Bonifacio Global City.

We arrived around 7:30pm and the place was already packed with foodies who were all excited to sample few of the upcoming food businesses' products and rate them from 1-5.

With our score sheets in hand, we started to roam around and try some of the concessionaires' products.

A yummy treat to start our foodgasm adventure. A mini chocolate cupcake with luscious chocolate frosting, desiccated coconut and a chocolate surprise inside.

Up next was Flavor Avenue's Bagnet Paella which is made of saffron rice stew with Vigan longganisa, Ilocos Bagnet topped with caramelized onions, salted egg, tomatoes, spring onion and served with Bagoong aioli.

Something to quench our thirst during the event was this Arizona Peach and Lemon Iced Tea. How I wish we could grab the whole can of this drink 'cause it was so hot inside the tent that day. I wonder why the place wasn't air-conditioned, everybody was dripping sweat all over! Intense sauna session :)

Served hot on the spot were these crispy fried risotto balls that were cheesy and flavorful. Infused with tinapa and sun-dried tomatoes, I would say that this was a successful "Rice Ball Project". More please!! :)

Keira's Goodies

Keira's Goodies' Panicillos are rolled pastries with sweet pili nut fillings. Simple yet filling :)

Mila C's

Mila C's Sinantol is a spicy Bicolano recipe made of santol with coconut milk (gata). Best paired with rice!

Sweet Home Bakeshop offered three kinds of Butterscotch flavors- Original, Mango and Chocolate. they were all sweet and chewy but I couldn't find the difference on each flavor.

Made-from-scratch ice cream from Mad Mark's was another sweet and delicious treat. I love the Madagascar Vanilla Bean ice cream that tasted rich and creamy!

Crunchy and crisp, these crackling pork belly pieces truly are sinfully delicious! Some parts were a bit salty for me though.

Italian pizza in a pocket, these were cheesy but I was not able to determine what flavor it was due to the serving size :(

Awarded as the Most Innovative Creation that night, Tofud Sweets' Blueberry Tofu Cheesecake was ceratinly the most innovative. I love blueberry cheesecakes, and now, I also love blueberry tofu cheesecakes. A healthier alternative!

Mr. & Mrs. Brussels

Red Velvet Belgian Waffles with cream cheese frosting and strawberries.

I've seen their store in Greenhills Town Center and it looks really cute and inviting. Finally, I got to taste two of their cupcake creations which were moist and sweet.

I found the serving size for the chicken too small. :( The Mango Pandan reminded me of Alsa Gulaman my aunt makes.

And the Grand Champion of Foodgasm 2012 is none other than Blue Toque, who also bagged the Experts' Favorite Award. Blue Toque showcased the "Ultimate" Gourmet Mousse Cake which was awarded as the overall winner on dessert category during the Ultimate Taste Test 8.0.

The "Ultimate" was hands down the best dessert during the event. It's great that they had a freezer for it to give all foodies an "ultimate" experience.

Will be posting a separate review of Blue Toque's products soon :)

Again, congratulations to Mary Anne Ramos of Blue Toque for being the overall winner of Foodgasm 2012. You surely deserve it! :)
