Seven on 7th- Modern Euro-Asian Cuisine at the Forum South Global Bonifacio Global City

Seven on 7th- Why Seven? That's because the restaurant's menu highlight is a unique 7-course wagyu degustation, to be personally prepared by Chef Jay Rollan.

Don't get intimidated by the restaurant's facade- there's no dress code. Everybody is welcome to dine, whether you're in a formal suit and leather shoes, or in a casual flip-flops and tattered jeans.

Diners may choose to sit on the tables near the open kitchen to see the chefs in action.

Help yourself with some complimentary bread served with herb butter..

or start off with a bowl of their Wild Mushroom Soup (P300)- fresh button mushrooms, shiitake, cremini, enoki, mushroom sautee, truffle oil

A thick and rich puree of 4 kinds of mushroom with a hint of truffle oil. Although it was less creamy and tasty as I wanted it to be, mushroom lovers will surely dig this earthy and hearty bowl.

We tried another, and this time, the Broccoli Soup (P250) didn't disappoint.

A perfect blend of cheddar, Parmesan, queso blanco, cream, basil oil and broccoli florets, making up a rich and creamy soup concoction that's equally healthy and delicious.

Spicy Caesar Salad (P350)- grilled Cajun chicken, Parmesan crispy, quail egg, bacon, romaine and mixed greens

The classic Caesar salad made more special by a signature spicy Caesar dressing. The Cajun-rubbed chicken breast adds a mild zing to the salad as well. For me, the dressing was the highlight of this dish.

As for our main course, we had a sampler of their Hanger Steak, Bell Pepper Pomodoro, and a Potato-Crusted Seabass.

I love samplers as you get to taste a little bit of everything from the menu. I hope they keep these tasting portions in the future.

Hanger Steak (P750)

Steak lovers should not miss their tender and succulent medium-grilled onglet on a bed on creamy mash potatoes. A full order comes with rice pilaf and crunchy haricot verts on the side.

Bell Pepper Pomodoro (P375)

The classic Italian pasta in Seven pomodoro sauce, roasted bell peppers, basil pesto, tomatoes, queso blanco, parmigiano regiano, and Italian sausages. My tomato-based pasta lover friends delightfully swept their plate clean in an instant. Eyeing on the Carbonara and Salmon Mango Cream Pasta for my next visit.

Potato-Crusted Seabass (P1250)

My personal favorite. The Chilean seabass was very moist and perfectly cooked, bringing out its natural juices and flavors. This dish is the perfect choice for the light eaters and picky pescetarians too.

Desserts

French Beignet (P175)

The classic French doughnut sprinkled with powdered sugar, and served with 3 kinds of sauces- Chocolate, Vanilla Bean, and Mango. The fritters were very crisp and light with a chewy center that gives a minimal resistance to the bite. It is somewhat similar to churros.

Chocolat Verrine (P350)

Something for all chocolate lovers. This dessert is just divine! I may not be much of a chocolate lover, but this verrine has just the perfect layers of decadent and moist devil's food cake, chocolate mousse, almond meringue, and vanilla cremeux.

Now if that didn't tempt you, then give in to their White Chocolate Panna Cotta with Basil Cremeux (P325).

White Chocolate and Basil Panna Cotta verrine topped with almond streusel, strawberry coulis and fresh fruits. Again, my personal favorite. Heavenly!

Seven on 7th Menu:

At first glance on their menu, one may have hesitations of dining in, especially when on a tight budget. Yes, expect to spend a little more than the usual, but rest assured that this expectation is backed by a highly reasonable dining experience. Also, Seven on 7th boasts bigger servings than any other fine dining spots in the area, yet they manage to offer these items at lower prices compared to other establishments.

Looking forward to trying Chef Jay Rollan's 7-course wagyu creations. Perhaps D and I can revisit on a special occasion soon. :)
