Magnum Gold?! Grab the Gold in SM Supermarkets Nationwide #GrabTheGoldatSM

After we were hit by the Magnum craze in 2012, I've slowly developed my love for their Almond flavor. It's actually the only variant I like among all flavors of Magnum. 

Just recently, Selecta launched a new Magnum variant in a special and luxurious color- GOLD. 

Magnum Gold?! Yes, Magnum ice cream coated in Gold. It hit the shelves of SM SupermarketsHypermarkets and Savemore early this month, and it certainly got people excited to grab themselves a gold. 

Magnum Gold is currently available in leading supermarkets for P55 but SM Supermarket, Hypermarket and Savemore have an ongoing promo of buy 2 for P100 until Feb 28, 2014

Osaka Ohsho- World's No. 1 Gyoza in SM Megamall Fashion Hall

Osaka Ohsho is finally here in Manila! A Japanese restaurant specializing in the classic Japanese appetizer- GYOZA. They call themselves "The King of Gyoza" for being able to master the art of Japanese dumplings since 1969. 

Osaka Ohsho opened its first branch at the 3rd floor of Megamall's new Fashion Hall (Building D). Being a gyoza lover myself, I eagerly accepted an invite to check what it has to offer.

Kimukatsu 25 Layers of Tonkatsu Goodness- Shangrila East Wing

Love katsu? Here's a unique twist to our classic favorite tonkatsu- Kimukatsu-style. Kimukatsu is one of the latest contenders in Manila's katsu battle, located in Shangrila's new East Wing. What sets them apart is the fact that they are the only restaurant in the world that offers 25 layers of mille-feuille katsu in seven flavors. So in Kimukatsu, it's not just about getting Hire, Rosu or Kurobuta.

Kettle- A Melting Pot of Comfort Food at Shangrila East Wing

After our visit to Green Pastures, I was finally able to try another restaurant that piqued my interest the most in Shangrila Plaza's East Wing- Kettle. D has tried it before with his family and he was all praises about their food. So when I got an invitation to try it out, I made sure there's no way I'd miss the chance. 


Pork and Potato Strips (P339)- crunchy pork belly, fresh potato strips, fried herbs, red pepper aioli

Honestly, I am not a big fan of potatoes or fries, but serve me this and I'll gladly have as much as I want. This appetizer was just so addicting, I was still munching on it in between main courses. It's absolutely normal to create a mess while demolishing this tower of crispy fried pork and potato goodness.

Greeka Kouzina- Greek Cuisine in Little Baguio, San Juan

Greeka Kouzina in San Juan has been the talk of the town since it opened its doors, but it was only during December of last year that I got to try it with D. They opened up their second branch in SM Aura on that same month, but we decided to dine at the original branch instead.

I heard raves about their best-selling 5-hour roast lamb that falls off the bone- Arni Lemonato (P610)

Truly, this was the bomb! Three meteors of roasted lamb have landed on our table. It was juicy, meaty, tender and flavorful. Serving size was huge but we managed to devour it to the bones.

The Goose Station- Degustation and Molecular Gastronomy at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig

We've always wanted to dine at The Goose Station owned by chef couple Rob and Sunshine Pengson. Fortunately, a thanksgiving business event was hosted by Acer to treat its partners to an intimate and gastronomic dinner. 

We were initially served with a complimentary plate of baguette, honey wheat bread and focaccia. 

I love the baguette for its texture which was hard and crunchy on the outside, but soft and chewy on the inside. In terms of taste, I prefer the sweet whole wheat bread.

Hanamaruken Ramen- Osaka's Bowl of Happiness in Trinoma

Looking for a new ramen place? There's one in Trinoma called Hanamaruken Ramen. It's actually famous in Japan with over 40 branches in Osaka. Their signature dish is a shoyu tonkotsu ramen topped with a dark, tender, and slow braised pork rib called "Happiness Ramen"

The reason for every diner's happiness and joy. It's what most customers come here for. The noodles were thin and the broth was light yet flavorful. The highlight of this ramen is the huge slab of pork rib that's slowly braised for hours to achieve that tender, aromatic and flavorful meat goodness. Truly a happiness in a bowl!
