Wee Nam Kee recently launched the "All New Culinary Treasures of Singapore" to showcase new signature dishes other than their famous Hainanese Chicken. Prepare yourselves for some gastronomic delights as Wee Nam Kee presents authentic Singaporean dishes ranging from appetizers, mains, rice, noodles, drinks and desserts.
Starting off with Crispy Mantou Bread with Condensed Milk (P78) that will prepare your taste buds for the coming Singaporean delights.
An appetizer of Prawn Paste Chicken Wings (P218) will tease your palate with a taste of Singapore.
The chicken wings were perfectly crispy, but I wish the prawn paste coating tasted more evident.
Hainanese Chicken Curry Noodles (solo- P225, sharing- P368)
A hot bowl of rich and creamy curry noodles topped with Wee Nam Kee's signature Hainanese chicken certainly won't disappoint laksa lovers out there. I especially enjoyed this dish filled with generous serving of noodles, soup and toppings.
Cool down with a glass of Strawberry Passionfruit Cooler (P125) or Mango Mint Smoothie (P125).
Then prepare yourself for a line up of various Sinagporean-style dishes cooked in different ways and sauces.
Wok Fried Chicken w/ Cashews and Sun-Dried Chili (P270)
Cashew Coffee Spareribs (P298)
Salted Egg Chinese-Style Fried Chicken (P295)
Alternate servings of these full-flavored dishes gave me a hard time choosing my favorite. I love the crispiness of the Wok Fried Chicken, and the sweet and caramelly sauce from the Cashew Coffee Spareribs, but the Salted Egg Chinese-Style Fried Chicken won me over. Reminds me of my favorite Fried Crab with Salted Egg from Gloria Maris, but this chicken version tasted lighter.
Stewed Pork Belly w/ Steamed Buns (P350)
The tender and savory stewed pork belly is the perfect accompaniment to the soft and sweet steamed buns.
Prawns w/ Lychee and Peaches (P495)
At first, you'll think that this is another dish most Chinese restaurants serve. But a closer look will surprise you with some few pieces of shelled prawns mixed with lychee and peaches, giving a fruity twist to the classic sweet and sour dish.
Butterflied Tilapia w/ Singapore "Chili Crab" Sauce (P385)
Instead of serving the classic Singaporean Chili Crab, Wee Nam Kee entices diners with an interesting version of "Chili Tilapia"- deep-fried butterflied tilapia in their famous chili crab sauce.
And the best way to enjoy these mouth-watering Singaporean dishes? Pair it up with a serving of their tasty Pineapple Fried Rice w/ Pork Floss (P250).
or Wee Nam Kee's big serving of premium Spicy Sambal Rice Noodles (P295)
Cap off your meal with some desserts like this Three Flavor Chocolate Truffle Buchi (P128)
Not interesting enough?
Wait until you break open the buchi filled with chocolatey goodness. Get to sample three different chocolate flavors: milk, white, and dark chocolate ganache oozing out those sesame coated rice balls.
So you think Wee Nam Kee is just all about Hainanese Chicken? Experience all new dishes that will give you a taste of Singapore's culinary treasures only at Wee Nam Kee.
