Luminisce Holistic Skin Innovations by Dr. Kaycee Reyes in Bonifacio Global City

I'm excited to share my first ever skin treatment at Luminisce Holistic Skin Innovations in Bonifacio Global City few weeks ago. I was never fond of going to skin care clinics not because I don't care about my skin, but mainly because of fear. It's just that I have this certain aversion towards doctors, needles, surgeries and other things related to pain. I never went to hospitals for checkups with the family because I always knew it was a devious plot to make me take vaccines against my will. The only time I had to take medical checkup was for an ojt requirement and I had no choice.

So when I heard that Luminisce in BGC offers non-invasive and painless skin treatments, I decided to give it a try and considered availing some of their basic skin care treatments. I guess it was also time to give my skin the ultimate pampering session it deserves after all these years. I booked an appointment one Saturday afternoon and fortunately, they were able to accommodate me. Honestly, I was excited and nervous at the same time since I didn't know what to expect. But, prior research about other customers' experiences put my mind at ease. Add the fact that Dra. Kristine Reyes MD, co-owner and wellness advocate, is a skin expert and dermatologist highly trained in London. I knew right then that I will be in good hands.

Luminisce Holistic Skin Innovations is located at the second level of the Mercury Drug Building in BGC near St. Luke's Hospital. The place was very inviting and didn't look like something I'd stay away from at all. It's more like a salon than a clinic with gold and white accents, comfy chairs and an elegant chandelier that brightens up the whole place. 

They asked me to fill up a short questionnaire to assess my skin and areas of concern.

After a while, I personally met Dra. Kaycee Reyes for the first step of my treatment:

Skin Check

Luminisce understands that not all skin types are the same. So this first step is done to all new customers who want to avail their treatments. Expect extensive skin analyses from Dr. Kaycee Reyes herself, to help you achieve the best skin transformation that you need.

Dr. Kaycee asked me questions such as the skin care products I use and skin concerns that I may have. I shared that I seldom get pimples on my face, but when I do, it leaves a "mark" big time. I also shared my concerns on large open pores and presence of whiteheads on my nose area. After listening to my concerns, she explained why these concerns happen and gave tips to prevent it as well. 

She assessed my skin and recommended the best skin treatments for my concerns. I specifically requested for painless treatments since it was my first time and noted that I have a very low pain tolerance. After my skin check, I was led to a small room where the first treatment will be administered. A thorough cleansing of the face was done to ensure that the skin is clean and free from chemicals before the treatment.

Skin OXYGlow

Skin OXYGlow is a non-invasive treatment that infuses oxygen and hydrating nutrients like Vitamic C deep into the skin cells. It helps rejuvenate the skin by improving blood circulation and collagen production to protect the skin from the harsh environment.

The procedure was very relaxing as oxygen and liquid nutrients are being infused to the skin. Imagine a very cold blower on your face while being massaged at the same time. 

Hydra Power

Hydra Power is a treatment that uses a machine with a powerful vacuum and Vortex tip unique to Aqua Clean, for exfoliation, microdermabrasion, and deep dermal cleansing. It involves 3 steps using 3 kinds of serums for a brighter and cleaner skin. (1) Lactic Acid which removes sebum and oxidized waste deeper in the pores. (2) Salicylic Acid which dissolves oxidized dead skin and calms acne, rash, and other skin problems. (3) Hyaluronic Acid which supplements nutrients and moiturizes the skin.

I just had to make sure no sharp objects will be used during this treatment

This was another non-invasive procedure that was equally relaxing as the OXYGlow treatment. Only this time, I felt my skin being vacuumed with some small amount of liquid being infused into the skin.

Facial 

After the treatment comes the part I dread the most- pricking. I hated facials because of horror stories from friends and families. Surprisingly, my facial treatment was far from what I expected. It was not pain-free but it wasn't painful either. The attendant wanted to inject the small pimple on my forehead so it will heal faster, but the scaredy-cat in me told her that I can just wait.

Acne Clear Laser by Spectra XT
Spectra XT is a machine with varying aesthetic solutions for that ultimate all-in-one skin solution. Acne Clear Laser was used on me to get rid of acne inflammation, post-acne redness and flushing.

An eye mask was placed on my eyes to protect it from the laser lights. Honestly, the sound of "laser" scared me a bit.. ok, a lot. I wanted to back out the last minute and cancel the treatment, but I was quite embarrassed to do so. Covering my eyes helped ease my fear though. The procedure was very quick that involved 3 passes of laser. The feeling? Firecrackers all over my face! Imagine those small sparklers during new year or celebrations. I can hear the sparkling sounds and I can feel a tingling sensation on my face in every pass. The pain was very tolerable and I'm proud of myself for having undergone this kind of treatment.

Overall, I really enjoyed my whole experience at Luminisce Holistic Skin Innovations. I think it was the right decision to finally try something new and to choose Luminisce among other skin care clinic out there. My experience encouraged me to make a conscious effort to take care of my skin even more and spoil my skin once in a while.
