The Frazzled Cook Relocates in Scout Gandia, Tomas Morato

Years ago, I remember getting lost while looking for this one particular restaurant along Luna Mencias St. in Mandaluyong. Its location was quite hard to find due to one way streets and dim lighting in the area.

Fast forward to today, great news came when I was invited to that same restaurant- only this time, in a much familiar and convenient location- Tomas Morato

The Frazzled Cook finally relocates along Scout Gandia in Tomas Morato

It has the same charm as their old location with quaint decors and cozy interior. We sat in a private room that can accommodate a small party of 10.

Sizzling Squid (P495)- marinated squid with cured mangoes and drizzled vinaigrette

The sizzling squid was perfectly cooked in a sweet sauce packed with smokey barbecue aromas.

Perfect to go along with Frazzled Cook's signature Paella Negra (P375- small, P635-big)- squid inked rice topped with squid, shrimp, sausage, bellpepper and egg.

Truffle Pasta (P295)- mixed pasta with sauteed Portobello mushroom and home-made white truffle sauce

I love the use of mixed fusilli/rotini and penne pasta for a variety of texture. A simple dish topped with mushrooms and bacon, packed with rich creamy flavors of truffle sauce.

Tenderloin and Sausage Pizza (P380)- herbed crusted thin pizza dough topped with beef tenderloin salpicao, onions and kesong puti

The toppings were a nice combination, but I found the crust too thick even when it was described as thin. Taste was pretty much decent but the crust was really a let down for me. Those who prefer their crust thick would probably enjoy this for a filling snack.

Wagyu Salpicao (P595)- mouth-watering beef cubes sauteed with sliced garlic and mushrooms

If you are okay to splurge a little for premium beef salpicao, then go ahead and order this dish. Garlicky tender beef cubes and mushroom slices served with rice and veggie sticks on the side. The beef has this intriguing texture that is both soft and tender to the bite.

Grilled Barbecue Shortribs (P465)- slowly cooked goodness off the grill

How can I not love this? Juicy and flavorful grilled shortribs in a sweet and hickory barbecue sauce. Just the way I like it! The meat was very tender and moist with creamy mashed potatoes on the side.

The Frazzled Cook Menu:

I'm just happy that Frazzled Cook finally relocated in an area we normally frequent. The place is ideal for any occasion- small get-together with friends, a simple family dinner, or a casual yet romantic date with that special someone. My favorites were the Sizzling Squid, Truffle Pasta and Grilled Barbecue Shortribs.
