Perfect Italiano Presents The Prefettos- A Mystery Dinner by Pinoy Eats World

Recently received an invite to an exclusive meet and greet event of Perfect Italiano's The Prefettos. There wasn't much detail on the invitation except for the date, time and the destination that says Perfect Italiano's Mystery Resto.

It sounded mysterious and exciting as we were instructed to meet up at San Antonio Plaza Arcade, McKinley Road, Forbes Park, Makati. Then a shuttle arrived to pick us up and brought us to our final destination- The Perfect Italiano's Mystery Resto

We finally arrived in front of a mysterious residence and were led inside the house to a beautiful and modernistic kitchen. You see, the moment I received the invitation for Perfect Italiano's event, the first thing that came into my mind was a pasta brand. But after doing some online research, I learned that it was actually a brand of cheese.

I came to the right place.

The cheesy dinner was prepared by Pinoy Eats World, a company known for their Guerilla Dinners helmed by Chef JJ Yulo and Namee Jorolan

We were presented with the menu for the night, with each dish infused with Perfect Italiano's variety of cheeses.

While waiting for other bloggers and media to arrive, we were served with an appetizer to tease our palates.

And if you haven't had enough of cream cheese, jalapeño and bacon, then try out Village Tavern's interesting twist to the classic potato skins. O' Sonho Portuguese Fusion Restaurant- Jupiter, Makati

O'sonho (o-son-nyo) is this Portuguese Fusion Restaurant that we've been always meaning to try out in Eastwood Mall. I was very curious about Portuguese cuisine but every time we pass by O'sonho, I'm always intimidated by the place. I'm not sure if it's because of the fine-dining feel to it or maybe it was the bottles of wine on the tables. I don't know, but seeing wine bottles on the tables of restaurants intimidates me sometimes.

So when a deal for a set meal for 2 at O'sonho came up from Ensogo, I immediately grabbed the offer and purchased ourselves a voucher.

We decided to avail it at their Makati branch along Jupiter Street which I found less intimidating than the branch in Eastwood.

We started with a famous Portuguese green vegetable soup called Caldo Verde (P180) which is made from sautéed spinach with hearty broth then puréed for a thick and creamy consistency.

Next served was the Lemony Shrimp Salad (P230) which is a simple combination of sautéed prawns, cherry tomatoes, diced cucumber and romaine lettuce tossed in a sweet, refreshing and tangy home-made lemon vinaigrette.

We both loved the home-made vinaigrette and the overall taste of the salad, however, we were a little disappointed with its serving size. Given that it is regularly priced at P230, we expected a bigger serving for this. I don't know of this is their regular serving, but it could just pass up as a side salad for me.

Stuffed Fish Fillet (P220)

Our first main course was O'sonho's Stuffed Fish Filletbaked white fish fillet covered with Portuguese herbs ad spices then stuffed with bell pepper, capsicum, onions and tomatoes

House of Flair Product Review: Nail Fraud Nail Polish Leopard Print

House of Flair is a Philippine-based business that allows people to pre-order anything from USA online stores without shipping charges. Cool right? It's like a one-stop-shop of everything you want to buy in the U.S without actually going there.

This October, I was lucky to be chosen as one of House of Flair's guest blogger for the month. I got myself this Nail Fraud Leopard Print Nail Polish Strips that costs $5.99 which they sell for only P300

It is a do-it-yourself dry manicure that you could easily apply on your nails. I love doing nail art to my nails but my hatest part is making mistakes and having to do the whole thing all over again. Plus, I also get impatient with the drying process.

This Nail Fraud Nail Polish Strip set is a great discovery for me. Imagine getting a stylish and fashionable nail art in just a few minutes.

I love the leopard print design which is very hard to do with regular nail art pens. The set includes 12 strips of nail art prints, emery board and a wooden cuticle stick.

Application process is easy as 1-2-3. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Prep. Shape your nails and clean with nail polish remover. Match the right size for each finger.
2. Apply. Cut out each print and remove from the card then apply to nails starting from the bottom. Gently press down or hold for 5-10 seconds to activate the adhesive.
3. Trim. Use the emery board to trim the Fraud and fit into your nails.

And you are done. I tried applying a colorless nail polish to make it last longer and keep it from breaking easily.

The only problem for this product is that there's no room for mistakes. Although there's an extra 2 prints in case you messed up, I think it isn't enough especially for first time users like me. Fortunately, my application was ok with just minor and almost invisible flaws. :)

I'd definitely recommend this product to every kikay girl and fashionista out there. Looking forward to more print designs in the future :)

Want one for yourself? Then head over to House of Flair's Facebook Page and order this Nail Fraud Leopard Nail Polish Prints now! :)

They also carry on-hand branded items which you can find here: http://bit.ly/oT72kd

My Ultimate Taste Test 10.0 Experience- Rockwell Tent, Makati

Last month, The Foodies Circle was fortunate enough to get invites for Rockwell's 2nd Ultimate Taste Test- a one day food event wherein everyone gets to be a food critic for a day. I've had my first food critic experience during the recent  Foodgasm event organized by UP Economics Society but this has a bigger venue and greater food concessionaires.

Upon arriving at the venue, we immediately devised our plan of attack starting from the left  to right.

My first few favorites are these fruity jams from The Fruit Garden. The Tropical Paradise was a refreshing and sweet fruity combination while the Berry Dream was just incredibly Berry-licious! :)

Swizzle Mobile Bar showcased their Caramel Beer and Rainbow Shots which were both excellent and worth the 5-rating. Both were sweet and delicious perfect for non-alcohol drinkers out there.

Yabu-licious, Yabu: The House of Katsu - Robinson's Magnolia

There's a katsu hype in town.. A hype that likely won't die down anytime soon. In fact, I bet this hype will go on and on and on.. only in Yabu: The House of Katsu.

The first time I've tried Yabu, it was during the soft opening of their Megamall branch. I read raves and reviews online that just made me want to try it out for myself. Without a doubt, we weren't disappointed.

And just recently, we got to try their newest branch in Robinson's Magnolia which is nearer to home and more accessible for us to visit. Thank you to Ms. Jel Cortez for inviting us over to try out some of Yabu's signature dishes.

Rosu Kurobuta Curry (P615)

Even before our visit, I already have my order in mind-Rosu Kurobuta Curry that basically has everything I want on it.

Rosu Kurobuta is made from the world's finest pork that has a the right amount of fat trimmings for a juicier and more tender texture. Kurobuta, also known as the Black Berkshire Pig is like the "kobe" of beef prized for its succulence, exquisite flavor and superior taste.

And what better complement this premium tonkatsu than a rich bowl of slow-cooked Japanese curry made with 45 ingredients. Just tell the servers how spicy you want your curry- Regular, Hot or Very Hot.

An order of this Katsu Curry Set includes unlimited Japanese Rice, miso soup, Japanese pickles, unlimited cabbage and a bowl of fruit slices (watermelon and pineapple)

Kagura Little Tokyo- Home of the Authentic Japanese Okonomiyaki

I've been posting about Japanese restaurants recently and I can't help but miss our food trips in Little Tokyo, Makati

Little Tokyo is this small world of Japanese restaurants situated in Pasong Tamo, Makati. If you are Japanese cuisine fanatic, then you should never miss this place. Authentic Japanese restaurants are nestled together with accents and decors to bring in that warm and cozy Japanese dining experience.

We settled in Kagura which is famous for its Okonomiyaki dishes. I love seating at their Tatami tables which gives a casual vibe dining. Or you may also want to sit on the counters for a closer view of how they prepare the orders.

Omakase Japanese Cuisine in IL Terrazzo- Tomas Morato

Omakase Japanese Restaurant is probably one of our go-to places each time we crave something Japanese like sushi. We may try new Japanese restaurants but it seems that we always go back to this place for our random Japanese cravings.

Tofu Furai (P115)

Be it Agedashi Tofu or Tofu Furai, these silky soft tofu squares are one of my favorite Japanese appetizers. The Tofu Furai in Omakase comes in six breaded tofu cutlets served with a special tonkatsu sauce.

SAR Platter (P445)

Since we were craving for sushi that night, we ordered for Omakase's SAR Platter which consists of 8 pcs. of Salmon Skin Roll, 10 pcs. American Dream Sushi (my favorite!), and 8 pcs. Rock n' Roll Maki.
