Kushikatsu Daruma Uptown Mall BGC: New Rice Bowl Lunch Sets at P265!

Kushikatsu Daruma, the world-famous kushikatsu place in Osaka, is known for their deep-fried skewers of meat and vegetables in a special bread flour coating. These skewers are then dipped into a deep-flavored umami sauce, a signature recipe by Kushikatsu Daruma.

It was our first time to visit Kushikatsu Daruma in Uptown Mall BGC, ever since it opened early this year. While we were set on trying their kushikatsu, we also wanted to check out their new lunch set promo.

Kushikatsu Daruma recently came out with an awesome deal that rightly fits the budget.

Aside from kushikatsu, Daruma also serves an array of rice bowl items, which are the highlights of their new donburi lunch set promo.

For only P265, you can choose among equally mouthwatering donburi variants such as Katusdon, Oyakodon, Gyudon; or Yakiniku and Chicken Teriyaki for grilled options. Each set comes with a glass of Daruma Iced Tea, Miso Soup, and a scoop of Ice Cream to cap the meal (a P310 value, all for FREE) when you avail the lunch promo during weekdays.

We went on a Saturday lunch so we were not able to avail the promo. Nevertheless, we still tried their rice bowl items and some kushikatsu.

We had the Gyudon with Cheese (P330) which is a leveled up version of their classic Gyudon (P295).

I initially wanted the Gyudon with Egg (P330), but D insisted we try something different. So cheese it is!

I must say that getting the lunch promo would be so worth it considering that the rice bowl items are priced at P295 each without the add-ons.

We also ordered for the Curry Chahan (P160) since D loves everything curry. I was not surprised he swept his bowl clean in an instant.

For appetizer, I got us an order of the classic Fried Gyoza (P190). While I still prefer my gyoza steamed, I liked the added crunch and texture in every bite. Plus, the dumpling was really chunky, juicy and moist.

I wanted to get the Beginner Level (P480) set for our kushikatsu, but ended up ordering our preferred variants individually. We had Chicken Gizzard (P39), Squash (P39), White Onion (P39), Asuhos (P39), Chicken with Garlic (P59), Chikuwa (P59), Classic Kushikatsu (P59), and Camembert (P59).

Everything was good, especially the camembert and classic kushikatsu. I also liked the squash and white onion for the vegetable options.

The flavors can be a bit tiring to the taste buds after some time, so the side veggies really helped in refreshing the palate.

NO DOUBLE DIPPING!!!- this is the scared rule when dining in Kushikatsu Daruma. 

You'll see this sign all over the restaurant, to constantly remind patrons to resist the urge to dip again. 

Our first visit to Kushikatsu Daruma definitely won't be the last. Although we may not be able to visit on a weekday lunch for their promo, we will still revisit to try other donburi items and their kushikatsu specials. I am also looking forward to trying their Chu Hais and cocktails which seem perfect to go along with their kushikatsu offerings.
