Hap Chan Seafood Resto- Reintroduction to Classic and Affordable Chinese Cuisine

Long before these Chinese restaurants in Banawe, there was a "Chinatown in Manila" known to be brimming with tea houses, serving traditional, no-frills, and delicious Chinese fare.

Here, you can find the original Chinese restaurants of Manila packed with loyal patrons patiently waiting for their dimsum, noodles, and congee. A cup of tea on one hand, a newspaper on the other, and a Chinese feast laid on the table- it's the usual daily grind in the heart of chinatown.

One of those restaurants that still exists up until to today, is Hap Chan.

4 Ways That Studying Abroad Can Change Your Life

Studying abroad is a unique opportunity that many young adults do not take advantage of in their lifetime. Reasons for this may include not wanting to leave the comfort of home or go far away from family and friends. Perhaps they are nervous about living in an environment where the culture is different, and language barrier is a concern. However, those who take the leap and choose to be adventurous and study abroad seldom regret doing so. Many times, they even choose to stay in the country in which they studied, get a job, marry, and have a family. Something "golden" is coming our way! Salted egg lovers unite, as one of the leading purveyors of the salted egg chips in Singapore has finally landed in Manila!!

After a year of local purveyors battling it out on who got the best salted egg chips in the country, the time has come for The Golden Duck to showcase its golden colors.

Long before I've tried local brands, my first salted egg chips experience was from The Golden Duck. I remember liking it very much, and interestingly even more as the pack comes close to being empty. It was so addicting I just can't seem to get enough.

Jasmine- Unlimited Dimsum at New World Makati Hotel

I can't express how much we love dimsum. An ordinary weekday night for us usually involves going to Banawe for some late night dimsum fix. It is probably our go-to restaurant after a long day's work. Plus, with various restaurants offering promos and discounts for their dimsum selections, we feel that it's the most practical place to enjoy our favorite dimsum, without burning our wallets.

However, there are certain days when we just want to splurge a little and experience some fancy dimsum delights. Since dining in hotels costs more than the usual, we often just order one of each dimsum variant and slowly savor each bite. So when we came across Jasmine's unlimited dimsum promo, there was no way we could let it pass.

This was from a few years back, so I am not sure if they still serve the same dimsum items for their promo. But let me just share some of the items we tried that day.

Steamed Dimsum

Shrimp Dumplings, "Har Gao" (P225)

Leading the line up is of course, hakaw! These were very plump and the skin was translucent and chewy just the way I like it.
