Ben's Cookies Opens Kiosk in SM Megamall + Baking Experience in Podium

Have you met Ben? I came across Ben's Cookies during our honeymoon in London early this year. I remember it was always on the must-visit places while I was doing some research before our travel. We weren't really planning on going out of our schedule to visit their store, but luckily for us, we chanced upon their branch in Hammersmith Broadway after our day trip to Stonehenge and Bath.

We bought a few flavors to try and really liked all of them especially the Ginger & Dark Chocolate and Cranberry & White Chocolate. Imagine my excitement when I heard that Ben's Cookies was set to open a store in Manila! Finally, I can try other flavors and have a taste of my favorites again.

Just recently, I was invited to have a behind-the-scene experience at their Podium branch and witness the baking process of their cookies first hand. What's more exciting was that I got to bake make my own batch of Ben's signature cookies!

It can be a sweet gesture to say hello, or simply just brighten someone's day.

Kyō-To Restaurant Makati- Traditional Japanese Kaiseki by Chef Ryohei Kawamoto

We celebrated D's 30th birthday last year in Kyoto.. Not in Japan, but in Makati. KyōTo is a hidden Japanese restaurant along Palanca Street in Legazpi Village, Makati. We've been frequenting a few bars in Palanca during my time in the corporate world, but never did I imagine that one day, I will go back to the area not for some bar chows and drinks, but to dine at this very fine Japanese restaurant.

I was initially hesitant to push through with our reservation since 1. I don't eat raw fish or sashimi (except spicy tuna) 2. The price of the kaseiki menu was waaaay beyond our average dining budget.

D really wanted to dine here ever since it opened, but was looking for an excuse to justify the big dining splurge. Finally, his 30th birthday seemed like the perfect occasion to take me out on a fancy dinner.

Upon arriving, we were immediately led to the Kappo- a 10-seater open-kitchen bar area where Chef Ryohei Kawamoto was busy preparing the menu for the night. A staff handed the kaiseki menu that listed down all the dishes that will be served to us that night.

Kaiseki is an elaborate multi-course Japanese dining experience with menu that depends on the availability of seasonal ingredients. It exhibits the culinary techniques and skill of a chef who puts in a lot of effort and thought in creating the menu.

Our Tinghun Journey and Experience New World Makati Oct 7, 2018 #SOHONGryforLove

October 7, 2018- We are officially engaged! After several months of preparations for our engagement and wedding, finally, we get to cross one event off our checklist.

Time really seems to fly by so quickly. I can still remember D's proposal last January. After nine months, we are officially engaged.

The Zen Institute A Medical Spa- Ultralift and Mesolipo for the Wedding Day

Tinghun finally down, and one last push to go- the wedding day. Preparing for both tinghun and wedding may be exciting, but it can also be stressful at the same time.

A month before our tinghun day, I was worried I won't be able to fit in my gown. It was quite tight that we decided to adjust it by an inch so I can wear it comfortably. Since our tinghun was a very special day for us, I wanted to look good and feel good. We regularly went to the gym, stayed away from unhealthy food and avoided eating out.

Then, I learned about The Zen Institute- A Medical Spa through a former schoolmate. I've always been curious if these non-invasive medical clinics really work. I know for a fact that these treatments cost a lot of money, and results depend on each person. I thought, if results aren't guaranteed, why bother trying it in the first place.

4 Tips to Making Your Own Popcorn

Popcorn is a whole grain that is made into a delicious snack made from a breed of corn that, when cooked, has a crunchy feeling. Popcorn has various health benefits, not known to many since its high in antioxidants. Sometimes even more than many fruits and vegetables. It’s also a good source of fiber.

You can pair a bowl of popcorn with a glass of cold beverage or ice cream while watching movie.
