The summer heat takes its toll in the country and everyone is becoming at risk of sun damage and skin dehydration. Vagabonds Artisan Comfort Food- Eating Like Kings and Vagabonds in Quezon City

Can you feel the love tonight? We certainly did at this newly opened restaurant in Quezon City called Vagabonds. It was Friday night and we were searching for a new place to try around the area when we spotted Vagabonds Artisan Comfort Food in the corner of Scout Limbaga and Scout Torillo.

The space was small but spacious with high ceilings, comfy chairs, and hats. Yes, they have a lot of hats in the restaurant. The place can accommodate around 30+ people at the same time, and could be a great venue for small gatherings and private functions. 

Belgian Wanderer Wings (P220)

Sugar, spice, and everything nice! These wings are cooked in a blend of chocolate marinade and Spanish paprika. They are coated in a rich and thick sweet sauce sprinkled with chili flakes and comes with a Pimiento Aioli dip. For me, the aioli dip was unnecessary. It didn't much complement the dish as the wings were already great on its own. 

Mediterranean Pasta (P300)

I was eyeing on the Mac and Cheese selections for pasta, but thought it would be too heavy for dinner. Instead, we had this classic aglio olio mixed with seafood. Serving size was huge and can be shared by 2 people. There were generous servings of tender squid rings as well. 

Ibiza Chicken with Chorizo Pilaf (P280)

This dish is a quarter chicken drenched in rich and thick red sauce on a bed of chorizo pilaf. The sauce was a bit salty but goes well with the rice. I squeezed in some lemon to enhance the flavors of both the rice and chicken. D liked this dish more than I did but I still enjoyed it very much.

I'm looking forward to visiting Vagabonds Artisan Comfort Food again. There are a lot more dishes I want to try on their menu such as their burgers, salads, and milkshakes. It was a lazy Saturday afternoon, one day before my birthday, and what better way to celebrate than to pig out and check one restaurant off my list. 

We finally step foot in the famous Gino's Brick Oven Pizza in Katipunan. The restaurant was empty during our visit so we had the whole place to ourselves.

We came across the new Purefoods Sexy Chix variants and thought of how we can make a unique and innovative dish out of a can. We came up with a Sexy Chicken AdoBao using Purefoods Sexy Chix Adobo, and Sexy Chix Hainanese Chicken Pizza using Purefoods Sexy Chix Hainanese Style Chicken. This time, we used the third variant Purefoods Sexy Chix Arrabiata to make our own Sexy Chix Arrabiata Cannelloni.

Kumori New Rustic Breads- Bite Into Clouds with Cranberry Yuzu and Ciabatta

Kumori Japanese Bakery has recently opened its first full scale cafe in SM North Edsa- Cafe Kumori. This is in addition to their original kiosks in Landmark and SM Makati, to address the growing demand for cafes, and at the same time, give their loyal fans a chance to enjoy their freshly baked breads while sipping on a cup of coffee, milkshake or tea. 

Being a huge fan of their soft fluffy breads, Toyohashi Pudding and Signature Hanjuku Cheesecake, I was ecstatic to receive a box of Kumori's bestselling pastries, featuring their new rustic bread variants-the Cranberry Yuzu and Ciabatta. 

Cranberry Yuzu (P78)- a white bread with a soft and fluffy interior, and a crispy rustic outer layer.

It is infused with some citrusy yuzu, and tart cranberries.
